Day 3, August 6, 20 km
I wake up to sunshine and a clear sky. The morning is easy. I follow the river I camped by last night surrounded by mountains, pick Cloudberries on the wetlands, and take a two-hour lunch break on an island.
I continue uphill for the next 8 kilometer. I am tired and hot, but determined to get closer to the Låddejåhkå Lodge. I take frequent breaks and turn around to look at the peaks to the west in Norway.
On a plateau with stunning views and a roaring river I pitch my tent in the late afternoon. Dark clouds gather from the south and I barely have time to wash off in the river and make diner before the first drops fall. It rains on and off during the night. Stretching my legs at 10 pm I see a full rainbow over above the Peaks in Sarek National Park to the east.
